What to verify before buying cookware, food-storage products, and countertop appliances.
Capacity and dimensions
Confirm the usable capacity and external dimensions. Countertop appliances can be much larger than product photos suggest, and cookware needs to fit both your stove and storage space.
Materials and care
Check whether the product is dishwasher safe, oven safe, induction compatible, or sensitive to metal utensils. A lower price is less valuable if the care requirements do not fit your routine.
Power and ventilation
For electric appliances, verify wattage, outlet requirements, ventilation clearance, and whether the cord length works in your kitchen.
Replacement parts
For appliances with filters, seals, baskets, or removable components, check whether replacements are easy to find and reasonably priced.
